Course overview
Situated between the Lake District and Eden Valley and offering some of the best views of the Lake District and Lakeland fells lies the Cumbrian golf course of Penirth.
Much like the viewable mountain of Helvellyn and Blencathra, Penrith golf course is a worthy challenge for all levels of golfers being quite undulating (as you can imagine in the area) whilst placing a premium on accuracy from approach shots.
Easy accessible from the M6, the course is a welcome stop over on route north or south of the country and with a number of quality accommodation nearby it's also a great option if you're heading for a trip to the Lakes.

Short and tricky little course
I played here on the way back from a trip from Scotland as it was halfway on the way home. We called up on our way down and the club were great in fitting us in for a tee time at the last minute considering we were a group of 12. Despite the wet weather we found the course to be great - and to have drained well. It's quite a short and tricky track with a few hills (very different to the links we'd been playing the previous few days) but we all had a great time. The staff were very welcoming and the food in the clubhouse was great too.
