Course overview
Voted as one of the most enjoyable golf courses to play in England by Golf World, Windermere Golf Club is not just one of the best golf courses in the Lake District, but South Cumbria.
The course has a long history having been established in 1891. It’s built on a natural rolling landscape, with narrow fairways lines with heather, bracken and rocky outcrops. The club has some of the best USGA standard greens in the country and the well-draining fairways means the course is famous for its excellent all year round condition.
From the fairways the course offers breathtaking views of the UNESCO World Heritage Lake District National Park. On a clear day, you’ll have panoramic views of Morecambe Bay in the South, Coniston Old Man in the West, the Langdales and Fairfield Horseshoe in the North, all the way round to High Street in the North East and the Pennines in the East.
