The Club has hosted many Championships, including two Open Championships in 1909 and 1920. Royal Cinque Ports is one of four venues for Final Open Qualifying from 2014- 2017. The Club hosted the Amateur Championship in 2013. Royal Cinque Ports has been home every year to the Halford Hewitt Public Schools Championship, since 1924, which is the largest amateur tournament in the world.
