Course overview
Royal St George's is one of the worlds elite golf courses. Having played host to amateur and professional tournaments since the 1880's. The club welcomes the return of one of the world's great sporting events, the 149th Open will be played at Royal St George's in 2020. This will be the 15th time the Open has played on this spectacular course.
The club has a unique golfing history and is one of England's finest links courses. The course design was by William Laidlaw Purves in 1887, ever changing throughout time to challenge a harsh test for even the most seasoned golfers. It is characterised by dunes and wild foliage, swales, fast-running fairways and deep bunkers.
Visitors are welcomed with warm and friendly staff at the clubhouse, steeped in history.
