Course overview
Hazlehead Golf Course is a municipal facility with two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole course complete with a pitch and putt practice ground. The MacKenzie Championship Course is regarded one of the best in the North East of Scotland and was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, the architect better known for designing Augusta National. The course provides a true test of golf with gorse and woodland proving a hazard for any wayward shots. The second course on offer, The Pines Course was originally a nine-hole course but was extended in the early 1970's. A little more open, the course is more forgiving and more suitable for higher handicappers. The Nine Hole Course meanwhile has wide fairways making it the perfect starting course for beginners.
