Course overview
On the North Sea coast of Scotland lies the historic golf links course of Carnoustie. Professionals at the very top of the men’s and women’s game have taken on the challenge of the world famous course, along with golfers of a more senior age, and having hosted many top tournaments over the decades, this much loved course is host to The Open in 2018.
The championship course is stunning and oozes history. Can you avoid the Barry Bunn at the last hole, or will you be rolling up the trouser legs to save your round? Clever bunker positions and gentle streams offer plenty of challenges in the shorter Burnside course, while the more recent Buddon Links course is a par-68 Peter Alliss-designed effort for a slightly shorter round.
Carnoustie town is understandably proud of the worldwide fame that golf has brought it, with a Golf Street and Golf Street Station found in the centre. The surrounding Angus region has plenty of accommodation, and just 13 miles west lies the city of Dundee, one of the largest cities in Scotland and offering a perfect option to supplement your golf trip to the world-famous Carnoustie.
