Course overview
Just seven miles south-east of St Andrews lies the lesser known but far from inferior Kingsbarns Golf Club. This links course has a broken history going back to the eighteenth century, having spent various times as simple farming land. However, links golf was resurrected once more in 2000 to supply a challenging course now used for the Alfred Dunhill Links Cup.
If water lays a regular claim to your golf balls, you might want to bring along a plenty for your round. Seven of the holes play alongside the sea, including two hefty par 5s, so be sure to bring your straight game off the tees.
Whether you have won your battle with the coastline or seen your supply of balls disappear into a watery grave, there’s a friendly clubhouse perfectly positioned waiting to welcome you home, offering viewing areas, outside patios, and fantastic views over both the course and the North Sea. With loads of accommodation options nearby, Kingsbarns is a gem that is in no way in the shadow of its more famous neighbouring golf course and well worthy of a place on your golfing holiday wishlist.
