Muirfield is a club enriched in history from it's humble beginnings in Leith in 1744 to the move to Musselburgh and finishing up at Muirfield, East Lothian in 1891. Muirfield hosts men and ladies, international, professional, national and championships. It's credentials speak for itself with 11 Amateur Championships and 16 Open Championships being played. There has been adjustments made to 15 holes to keep Muirfield a challenging course. Some of the changes include, extensions of greens, six new championship tees (making the course 7245 yards in total), and relocation of bunkers to compress the entrances to greens. The work that has been done has received extensive praise from both players and commentators.
