Course overview
Stoke-by-Nayland is home to two golf courses, both named after two local famous artists, Thomas Gainsborough (Gainsborough Course) and John Constable (Constable Course).
Both are well-established layouts dating back to the 70s and include the challenges of lakes, streams and woodland throughout the round.
The Gainsborough course is recognised as the better of the two, measuring in at over 7,000 yards with a par of 71! The undulating terrain and four lakes make it a challenge to test the skills of golfers of all abilities.
The Constable course meanwhile is also set amongst the woodland with several natural water hazards. But at 6,544 yards with a par of 72, it’s a little more gentle than its bigger brother!
The club has played host to major national and international championships including the Europro Tour, European Senior Tour, PGA Seniors Championships, European Challenge Tour and the Ladies European Tour Access Series to name a few.
Together, this makes Stoke-by-Nayland not just one of the top golf clubs in Colchester, but also rank amongst the Top 100 Resorts in GB & Ireland.
