Founded in 1880, Wilmslow Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses in the region and widely recognised as one of the finest championship golf courses in Cheshire.
The courses definitely requires you to use your golfing brain. It may not be the longest, but strategically placed bunkers, tree lined fairways, slight dog legs will block your approach shots to the green. Coupled with punishing rough in the height of summer, it means that it’s not a simple case of gripping it and ripping it.
The final few holes make for an exciting finish, particularly the par 5 18th which places a premium on accuracy with deep fairway bunkers and water beside the green. Added to that you'll probably have an audience from the clubhouse that looks over the last which only adds on more pressure.
