Just 25 minutes drive from Manchester city centre in Middleton, you'll find Manchester Golf Club. Set in an expansive 240 acres of land, the predominantly moorland course also has heathland and parkland characteristics. The mature course is an excellent test of golf, usually very well maintained with true greens but punishing rough in the height of summer. If you play well here you can score well, particularly on the front nine which offers a number of birdie chances. If you're not quite on your game, the course will find you out, most likely over the final four holes which can be extremely punishing into the prevailing wind. The club offers an nice traditional clubhouse which serves up excellent food. There's also a driving range, short game area and well stocked pro shop with a state of the art custom fitting centre and putting lab if your clubs have let you down out on the course.
