Course overview

Access to Wentworth Golf Club is not easy to achieve - it may just be easier to borrow the crown jewels for a weekend from Her Majesty. That being said, Wentworth keeps things this way due to the incredible standards they impose on the club and courses.   Located near Virginia Water, the club houses three stunning courses. The West Course is the longest of these, out-measuring the oldest of the three, the East Course, by over 1,000 yards. With a combination of heath and parkland, the course has been regularly altered across many years, presenting an ever-changing challenge. The most recent addition is the Edinburgh Course, a little-known course that Bernard Gallacher assisted in designing ready for its opening in 1990. With an additional 9-hole executive course, there are challenges for all who get to play at Wentworth.   As the permanent home of the PGA Championship, and indeed the PGA, the club and course are equally exclusive. Access is extremely difficult, but that’s not to decry the club, whose commitment to its environment earned it certification from the Golf Environment Organisation. With its locality so close to Ascot, Sunningdale and London, there is still much to admire about Wentworth.
