Course overview

Worthing Golf Club situated in West Sussex offers two golf courses and a driving range, complete with an active clubhouse. The Lower (Championship) Course is regarded as one of the most interesting and most testing courses in the area. The second course, The Upper Course is much shorter than The Lower at just 5,211 yards. The course still has it's own challenges though, placing a demand on accuracy with much less margin for error. Both courses offer excellent views of the English Channel from commanding position on the slopes of the South Downs.

Worthing Golf Club- Lower Course
With 36 holes on offer, as well as extensive practice facilities and a driving range, Worthing Golf Club has to rank as one of the best golfing facilities in the county.

The Lower Course, the longer of the two at just under 6200 yards from the yellows, offers some of the best Downland golf in the county, with plenty of spectacular holes from raised tee boxes, and far ranging views out to the Rampion Wind Farm and the Isle of Wight on a clear day!

The Lower course is a well bunkered layout, and when I played at the end of May was in fantastic condition, with some of the finest (and fastest) greens I have played in the county.

The course has a number of memorable holes, but my favourites are the long dogleg left par 4 2nd, the par 5 8th which snakes along a valley, the spectacular downhill par 4 10th and the tricky par 4 13th.

Overall, all of the above contribute to a very memorable experience, and I am already looking forward to returning!
