Course overview
Set in the middle of North Devon, golf has been played at Saunton since 1897 with the original construction of a 9 hole golf course before this was extended to 12 holes and then later 18 holes in 1908. However, Saunton Golf Club today has grown further and offers 36 Holes of beautiful championship links golf. The East Course is the older of the two and is regarded as one of the best golf courses in the West Country, regularly ranking (high) in the UK and Ireland Top 100. The West Course was re-designed and re-opened in 1974 and emulates the characteristics of the East Course, but provides its own uniqueness and challenges.
