Course overview

Founded in 1780 as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen and became the Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815.  Members played on the Queens Links until 1888, as it was close to the city of Aberdeen. Players were then moved across the River Don to the links at Balgownie. .  Hawtree & Company are the Club's architects to ensure our classic links keeps pace with the modern game. The club's 'Royal' designation was awarded by Edward VII in 1903. Balgownie is a classic links layout, a course to test the most seasoned of golfers, one who can accommodate the many variable conditions this links can throw at you. Balgownie's first nine holes rank as one of the very best in the world. With a natural ecosystem, rolling fairways and rich turf, no two are the same. The Silverburn Course is an amazing short course with nine par 3's, making it always an interesting play.
