Course overview

Chesterfield Golf Club is a well established parkland golf course set amongst stunning Derbyshire countryside on the fringes of the Peak District.

The club was founded way back in 1897 when its members first played a course in Somersall Park. In 1906 the club moved to the present site, just over a mile from where the original club was founded, and has been here ever since.

As a result, it’s a picturesque, well established course that offers a challenge for golfers of all abilities.

With tree-lined fairways and McKenzie greens, the course is designed to test all aspects of your game. It features short but challenging par threes. Drivable par fours. And lengthy par fives.

It’s a cliche, but it really is a golf course that offers a fair test for everyone.

And that’s been recognised by leading golfing bodies, awarding the course to host some top-level events. England Schools Championships, England International fixtures and the Midland Amateur Championships have all been hosted here in recent years.

It’s a testament to the club and the test of golf that the course provides. It certainly makes for an enjoyable experience for any visitor.
