Course overview

Dulwich & Sydenham Hill Golf Club set among mature oaks on the slopes of Sydenham Hill, just 5 miles from the capital. With panoramic views over Dulwich College and London (from Canary Wharf to Wembley) it has a high reputation amongst the capital’s golfing elite.

The club was founded in 1894 as a 9 hole golf course. But in 1911, it was extended to its full 18 holes by renowned golf architect Harry S Colt.

Despite the club being affected heavily by both World Wars - in WWI the course was reduced back to 9 holes with a number of staff and members enlisted in the war. And during WWII, in 1944, the the clubhouse was destroyed by one of the 30 bombs that hit the course. The club has fought its way through tough times to be recognised as one of the best in the area.

The layout provides a tough but fair test of golf. The undulating fairways are framed by mature trees. There are a number of risk and reward holes coupled with some of the trickiest, yet truest, greens in the south of England. The result is a golf course that is a good test for both high and low handicappers alike.
