Close House is set in the beautiful Tyne Valley, a short distance from Newcastle city centre. The 250 year old Close House estate grounds have been transformed into two excellent golf courses, The Colt and Filly courses, both endorsed by Lee Westwood. The first course was first opened here in 1968 for Newcastle University students to practice and hone their skills before undergoing renovations in 2006 and 2013 after which it became known as the Lee Westwood Filly Course. The course is much improved form the original layout, with USGA standard greens and a modern purpose built No.19 clubhouse which is a stunning setting for post round food and drink.
