Course overview

Ganton Golf Club is situated in the Vale of Pickering between York and Scarborough. The course is regarded as one of the very best of Britain's inland courses and has regularly featured in the UK & Ireland Top 100. The course has been host to many amateur and professional tournaments over the years including the staging of the Walker Cup, the Curtis Cup and is one of the few UK golf courses to stage the Ryder Cup in 1949. The course itself is build on sandy terrain and is gently undulating in what would be described as a blend of links and heathland, meaning the fairways and greens are both firm and fast. Bunkers are strategically placed around the greens that are usually in great condition in summer and winter alike making the course playable all year round. Some of the great golf architects including Vardon, Ray, Braid, Taylor, Colt and MacKenzie have all contributed to the course over the years to make Ganton the unique challenge it is today.
