Considered as one of the finest courses in the North of England, South Cliff Golf Club offer a combination of excellent facilities and a spectacular course with open views out to sea. The quality of the course speaks for itself with the club being honored as joint hosts of the English Amateur Championship in 2016 alongside reguarly hosting county events. The course itself is split into two sections, divided by a main road which makes for a vast contrast and different challenge of golf. Holes 4-10 are situated on the coastal side of the road and holes 1-3 and 11-18 are are on the land-ward side, sitting at the bottom of the valley stretching toards the hills. Like a number of golf courses on the Scarbrough-Whitby coastline, the beauty and main attraction of the course lies in it's glorious location with the holes on the cliff providing inspiring views of the South Bay and Scarborough Town. The cliff top location means a breeze is ever present, even on the calmest of days which provides an added dimension to the course and makes it's a different test each round.
