Buckinghamshire (or Bucks for short) is a county in the South East of England. It borders Great London and some of the more popular towns in the country form part of the London commuter belt with London underground connections.
For that reason, it’s one of the most desirable places to live in the country and has led to the area becoming quite an affluent county.
There are a total of 44 golf clubs in Buckinghamshire. They are associated with the Berks Bucks and Oxon Union of golf.
The three golf courses at Woburn Golf Club stand out as Buckinghamshire’s best offering, with all three featuring in the top 100 courses in England list. Ian Poulter is also famously attached to the golf club.
The Marquess despite being the youngest course at Woburn is the highest ranked and has been recognised with the privilege of hosting the British Masters on two occasions. It took the honour from its sister course, the Dukes, which was the previous course at Woburn to host the British Masters.
The Duchess course makes up the offering from Woburn. It’s the shortest course of the three and does quite carry the same prestige as the other two. But all three courses are set amongst magnificent mature woodland in the Woburn Abbey Estate that dates back over 350 years.
Other top picks in Buckinghamshire include Stoke Park (but is currently closed due to refurbishment after a recent takeover) and the Buckinghamshire Golf Club.
