Top 100 Golf Courses UK & Ireland 2021/22
Golf courses appeal to different people in different ways. Someone who bombs it 300 yards off the tee will probably prefer a longer more open course, whilst someone who doesn’t move it quite as far will prefer a shorter tighter course that favours accuracy. Lower hitters may prefer links courses, higher hitters probably prefer parklands. You get the idea.
There’s much debate in the golfing world as to the top 100 courses in the UK and Ireland. A quick search online and you’ll find a number of different websites listing the best courses. But there’s one thing, they are all different. But that’s OK…
That’s why we created Go&Golf. It’s a platform for you to share your views with the idea that the community will balance them out over time to give a fair reflection on the course.
What does this have to do with the top 100 courses in the UK?
Well, most golfers will have a dream of playing one of the best courses in the UK or even a wish list of a few. There are even golfers out there like “Top 100 Golfer” that dedicate their golfing lives to ticking off top 100 courses. But there’s a problem. It’s notoriously difficult to get a round on some of these and not to mention – expensive!
So we’ve compiled the cheapest round we could find on the websites of each of the top 100 golf courses in the UK and Ireland to help play that dream round of golf. And now updated for 2021/22!
Naturally most offer their best rates are in winter. Although it may not be the best time to experience the full magic of the course, it’s better than not getting the chance at all (and it means you can tick it off your list). But do keep an eye out as there are a few sneaky twilight rates and open competitions around in the summer months too – look out for the ☀️!
Rather than adding to another list to the debate, we chose to use Golf World’s Top 100. They offer one of the most respected top 100 rankings with a panel of 18 golfers owning a mixed range of handicaps that go out and play these courses themselves. They also know what they are talking about. You have to have played a minimum of 70 of the top 100 in order to get on the panel, many more than most golfers will play in their lifetime.
So here it is. If you’re looking to experience the best that UK and Ireland golf has to offer, find your ideal course and see if your dreams of playing there are more realistic than you first thought.
